CASE STUDY:

The Wildlife Trusts “Beasties” – Radio Campaign

We were approached by the creative agency working with The Wildlife Trust to produce a radio commercial for their national campaign, encouraging listeners to leave a gift in their Will and help protect wildlife for future generations.

The Approach

The script (featuring a conversation between a grandad and his grandson) was full of charm and playfulness, so our sound design leaned into that energy. We opened with the click of a door and a mix of gaming bleeps and a faint “game over” to ground the scene in a child’s world. Once Grandad suggests heading into the woods, the soundscape shifts to a lively woodland atmosphere, instantly transporting the listener outdoors.

For the big “ROAR” moment, we layered in a bang on the table for extra punch, before weaving in laughs, gasps, and even a raspberry from Leo (which, though spontaneous, worked brilliantly after the roar). The ad wraps up with a jingling of keys and the sound of a door opening, neatly bringing the listener back into everyday life.

The Music

To complement the playful narrative, we chose an upbeat, folky track that underscored the warmth of the ad. Its lively rhythm brought energy without overwhelming the voices, and its uplifting tone gave the commercial a strong, memorable close.

The Result

A fun and heartwarming radio commercial that balances humour, imagination, and a clear call-to-action, inspiring listeners to support The Wildlife Trust with a gift in their Will.
